Hello Hans,

just finished "Setting up Subversion for Multiple Projects via HTTPS" and found a couple of typos there:

* wget http:hdrlab.org.nz/assets/Articles/SVNInstall/ssl
missing the // after http:

* su www-data -c "htpasswd -c -m /home/svn/.dav_svn.passwd yourusername
missing the closing " (same for user2 example)

Haven't tried the scripts; done all manually.

Subversion is working now. Thanks a lot!

Posted to: typos in Subversion setup page Show Thread | Post Reply

Since I last posted, SourceForge fixed the permissions problem with Trac. People can now read the Wikis on each of my projects on SF.net without being logged in.

Posted to: Slight update about Trac Show Thread | Post Reply

I've never used Trac on sourceforge, but I'm glad that it's there. As for the end-user having to be logged in, that's a permissions issue. There should be an option somewhere to change that (don't ask me where). If there is no permissions setting for this, then that's something that the sourceforge team should look at adding.

Hans

Posted to: Slight update about Trac Show Thread | Post Reply

Slight update about Trac

Sourceforge does now offer Trac tracking as an option on its projects. I know because 2 of the ones that I'm admin of use Trac as our Wiki and for other functions. Trac powers the wiki pages of Sourceforge now but one problem I've run into is that Sourceforge's install of Trac requires the end-user to be logged into Sourceforge or via OpenID to be able to access the Trac interface to the projects.

Posted to: Slight update about Trac Show Thread | Post Reply

Hi Jennifer,

I have no idea about New York based website design companies, but you may wish to have a look at Silverstripe, or one of their partners (they have a few partners in New Jersey). Silverstripe are the developers of the CMS that runs this site. Have a look at their showcase page to get an idea of the kind of work that they've done.

regards,
Hans

Posted to: Looking For Web Development Service Show Thread | Post Reply
